Notapus (“we”) is an independent app, built so that your notes stay yours. This policy covers the Notapus apps for iPad and Mac and this website.
your notes stay on your device
Notebooks, imported PDFs and web pages, images and recordings are stored in Notapus’s folder on your device (on iPad, visible in the Files app). We never upload them, and we run no servers that store your notes. If you use iCloud Backup or iCloud Drive, Apple stores them under Apple’s privacy policy.
no account, no tracking, no ads
Notapus has no sign-in. It contains no advertising and no third-party analytics, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
what the app uses, and why
- Handwriting and text recognition runs on your device using Apple’s frameworks, so search works without sending your pages anywhere.
- The microphone is used only while you record, and the recording is saved into your notebook on your device.
- Photos and files are read only when you choose them to insert or import.
- Web page import opens the sites you visit directly in an in-app browser, like any browser would. We do not see which pages you open.
purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple. To check that a purchase is valid, we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history from Apple. It does not receive your name, email address or notes. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
this website
This site sets no cookies and loads no trackers or third-party fonts. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security, for a short time.
If you write to us, we use your message and address only to reply, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
children
Notapus does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.
deleting your data
Everything Notapus stores lives on your device: deleting a notebook, or the app, removes it. Nothing remains with us.

章鱼笔记（Notapus）是一款独立开发的 App，我们的原则是：你的笔记属于你。本政策适用于 iPad 和 Mac 上的章鱼笔记以及本网站。
- 笔记只保存在你的设备上。笔记本、导入的 PDF 和网页、图片、录音都保存在设备上章鱼笔记的文件夹里，我们不会上传，也没有存放笔记的服务器。若你开启 iCloud 备份或 iCloud 云盘，数据由 Apple 按其隐私政策保存。
- 无需账号，不追踪，无广告。没有登录，不含广告或第三方统计，不跨 App 或网站追踪你。
- 手写与文字识别在设备上完成；麦克风只在录音时使用；照片和文件只在你选择导入时读取；网页导入时，网站由 App 内的浏览器直接打开，我们看不到你访问了哪些网页。
- 购买由 Apple 处理。我们用 RevenueCat 验证购买，它只会从 Apple 获得匿名的 App 用户 ID 和购买记录，不会获得你的姓名、邮箱或笔记内容。
- 本网站不设置 Cookie，不加载追踪器或第三方字体；托管服务商可能短期保留常规服务器日志（如 IP 地址）用于安全。
- 你发邮件给我们时，邮件和地址只用于回复。我们不会有意收集任何人（包括儿童）的个人数据。
- 删除笔记本或 App，数据即被删除，我们这里不留存任何内容。
